Two more people have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
